National Evaluation of Partnerships Phases 1 and 2

In November 1998 Strategic Partners, in collaboration with the Research Centre for Gender Studies at the University of South Australia was contracted to undertake a national meta-evaluation of Partnerships Against Domestic Violence Phase 1.

The evaluation synthesised and analysed the outcomes and relationships between and across Commonwealth, national and State/Territory Partnerships projects. It aims to draw together the themes of Phase 1, identify key findings and assist in domestic violence planning and policy development.

This approach was adopted to ensure that the evaluation moved beyond individual programme evaluations to further the Partnerships purpose of supporting strategic innovation and adding value to existing domestic violence responses through a national effort.

Interim evaluation findings were fed back to the partners over the life of the initiative to ensure that project development and implementation was consistent with the most current think, latest research and emerging best practice principles.

The findings from the evaluation of Phase 1 were used to inform Partnerships Phase 2. The evaluation of the Phase 2 of Partnerships has been completed, and will inform policy and service delivery into the future.
