Project Funding
- A directory of Friends and Supporters of Single Mothers to help reduce negative stereotypes under the Sole Parent Proud campaign ($25,000, National Council of Single Mothers and their Children ).
- Analysis of older women's economic security in retirement under the older women and retirement income planning project ($25,000, Older Women's Network ).
- Best practice guidelines for schools to help young mothers complete their school education, under the School pregnancy issues project ($15,000, Association of Women Educators ).
- Updated research on women in unpaid work in the home ($20,000, Women's Action Alliance ).
- The first national data collection of services against sexual violence ($25,000, National Association of Services against Sexual Violence).
- A leadership and mentoring training programme for women with disabilities ($25,000, Women With Disabilities Australia ).
- Help for rural women and communities to manage change under the Women Leaders in Rural Australia project ($20,000, Foundation for Australian Agricultural Women ).
- A report on Greater participation by lay women in the Catholic Church, a project responding ($15,000, The Catholic Women's League Australia Inc ).
- A National leadership kit for secondary school students , which has already been incorporated into secondary school curricula in South Australia ($25,000, Guides Australia ).
- Fitting In or Standing Out? - a guide for women entering the policing profession ($15,000, the Australian Council of Women in Policing ).
- The Engineering a Better Workplace (Valuing Diversity and Engendering a Culture of Inclusivity), resource kit for engineering managers and women engineers ($10,000, Women in Engineering Committee ). The publication Engineering a Better Workplace was launched on 1 December 2000 at the National Convention Centre.
- An increased number International Women's Day Breakfasts across Australia ($10,000, UNIFEM Australia ).
Capacity Building
In 1999-2000, $35,000 was provided for capacity-building partnerships and activities, including six workshops attended by 80 sector representatives, to strengthen and assist women's organisations.
