Women's Development Programme 2003-2004

On 26 November 2003 Senator the Hon Kay Patterson, the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Women's Issues announced (link to Media Release) that fourteen women's organisations would share in nearly $520,000 in grants for policy and capacity building projects under the 2003-04 Women's Development Programme.

Across Australia, there are many groups that represent the interests of women. This diversity is reflected in the different sorts of projects and research that received grants.

Under the programme, funds of up to $400,000 were made available for policy projects, which will contribute to the quality of life and social standing of women throughout Australia. Funds totalling nearly $115,000 were offered to women's organisations for one-off capacity building projects to increase their effectiveness as an organisation and to strengthen their capacity to contribute to the development of public policy.
