Project Funding
On 15 January 2003 Senator Amanda Vanstone, the then Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Women's Issues announced that thirteen organisations would receive over $450,000 worth of grants under the Women's Development Programme 2002-2003 project funding round.
The funding enables capacity building projects in leadership training, mentoring, public speaking coaching, and business plan development. It also allows research into women in science, parenting and mothering, family responsibilities in a multicultural society and the measurement of social capital.
Under the programme grants were made available for up to $50,000 for policy projects and up to $25,000 for capacity building projects.
